Pont-du-Gard (30)
The Pont du Gard is, like the aqueduct of Uzes in Nimes, a technical feat for its time. Listed as a World Heritage monument by UNESCO in 1986, it is 275 meters long and 48 meters high.This site represents the most impressive part of a 50 km long aqueduct. Its sole purpose was to support a pipe leading the Eure spring water to the water tank (castellum) in Nimes.
